Abdullah leaves telecoms company Bell’s investment arm


Abdullah was a founding member of Bell’s corporate venture team, and now leaves to join software company OpenText.

Dana Abdullah has left her role as managing director of Bell Ventures, the investment arm of Canada-based telecommunications company Bell, and joined software company OpenText as vice-president of corporate development and venture capital.

Abdullah spent 13 and a half years at Bell, working across different roles including being a founding member of the company’s ventures team. Prior to this, she was part of KPMG’s deal advisory team where she consulted on various regional and international corporate finance initiatives.

OpenText has run a corporate venture fund in the past but more recently has tended to pursue growth through acquisitions.

Founded in 2022, Bell Ventures targets opportunities driven by network innovation where the corporate’s expertise and relationships can drive growth and strategic benefits. The unit focuses on investments in network, enterprise solutions, media and data sectors.
