“Then. Now. Forever. Together.” The WWE video leads us into the show.
Video: Last week on Raw, Jacob Fatu challenged World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns to a title match at WWE Backlash. Reigns said he would make his decision on the next Raw, which is tonight.
Video: World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns is seated in a room with his cousins, The Usos. Reigns says the past is the past, but they’re always blood. He doesn’t understand where Jacob Fatu is coming from. Everyone had two years to take advantage of him while he took a back seat. He procrastinated, so Reigns came back and beat CM Punk. Jimmy Uso doesn’t disagree with Reigns, but he does agree with Jacob. Jacob wants to upgrade his household, but not at Reigns’ expense. Jey Uso says Fatu is dangerous. They’ve watched him drop people one by one. They left him out there for a reason. If Fatu beats Reigns, he takes it all: the title, the Ula Fala, everything. This is it. It can’t be all about respect. Jey says there have to be consequences. Reigns is the Tribal Chief.
Reigns ponders and says, “Consequences.” They’re not doing charity. He’ll address this later tonight. Reigns appreciates the Usos. Jey and Jimmy shake hands. Jey says, “Family first.” Reigns puts his hand over theirs and says, “The first family.”

Seth Rollins addresses Bron Breakker
“BURN IT DOWN!”
Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring.
Replay: Last week on Raw, Seth Rollins attacked Bron Breakker from behind with a steel chair, splitting him wide open. The Street Profits came to Rollins’ aid to fight off Logan Paul and Austin Theory. Still, Breakker got the better of Rollins with a Spear.
Rollins, dressed in black, stands in the center of the ring as the loud Laredo crowd sings his song. Rollins shouts, “Laredo, Texas, welcome to Monday Night Rollins!” He is a revolutionary. He is a visionary. He is Seth “Freakin” Rollins. Rollins says he has a lot of ground to cover tonight. There is a reason he lost to Gunther at WrestleMania, and it’s not because Gunther was better than him on that night. There’s a reason why Roman Reigns is walking around with his World Heavyweight Championship, and it is not because Reigns pinned his shoulders to the mat. The reason for those things is one and the same: Bron Breakker. Rollins knows Breakker is in the back with nine staples in the back of his head, but they’ve got business to attend to and a score to settle, so Breakker can bring his “pea brain” out here to finish it.
Bron Breakker heads to the ring with WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman in tow. Breakker gets in the ring and intensely stares at Rollins. Rollins stares back at him. Heyman looks on from the background. Breakker gets closer as Rollins brings the microphone up to his mouth. Rollins says he gave Breakker everything. He gave Breakker the world on a silver platter, and he repaid Rollins by taking everything away from him. Breakker is the reason he had to forfeit the World Heavyweight Championship, why he didn’t main-event WrestleMania, and why he lost at WrestleMania. What did Breakker get out of it? How did it benefit him?
Heyman pulls Breakker back, but he then gives him the microphone and tells him to let it off his chest. Breakker asks what Rollins really gave him and Bronson Reed. Every week, they were like his errand boys, fighting all of Rollins’ battles and fires out. Rollins has no friends. Rollins is nothing. Rollins needed them to fight all his battles. For what? Every week, Rollins would kick off the show while they had to stand in the background as Rollins regurgitated the same crap every week. Breakker does a spot-on impression of Rollins’ opening lines. Breakker says he never needed Rollins or his Vision. The only reason they’re standing here is that Breakker needed Heyman. Heyman chuckles.
Rollins incredulously asks why Breakker needed that “dried-up sack of meat.” Rollins says Breakker proved everything he thought about him. A few years ago, Rollins wanted to fight the best in the world. Rollins called Shawn Michaels to fight his best. Michaels told him Breakker was the best, so Rollins agreed to fight him. Last year, Heyman asked about taking Breakker under his wing, and Rollins couldn’t wait. Only a year under his tutelage, Breakker could be the biggest star in this industry. Rollins has been here for 14 years and seen athletes come from everywhere, but Breakker is unique. He’s the strongest, fastest, and most versatile superstar he’s seen. Breakker has everything he needs to be the biggest star of the industry… everything except the most important thing. Rollins knows what it’s like to be a 28-year-old cat full of piss and vinegar, thinking the business owes you something. Rollins knows what it’s like to bet on yourself and make the hard decisions people won’t be happy with. The difference between them is that Breakker tries, and Rollins succeeds. Every time Rollins bet on himself, it ended with a main event or a World Championship. Breakker bet on himself and got Austin Theory and Logan Paul. He got steak dinners and happy endings from Heyman. Rollins says BReakker is not ready.
Breakker asks if that’s the narrative he really wants to go with. Breakker was well on his way to the main event with or without Rollins. He didn’t need Rollins’ help. Rollins’ body can’t handle the title, his mind is too brittle, and his shoulder can’t handle the weight of the pressure anymore. Yeah, Breakker took his shot at the World Heavyweight Championship and came up short, but he can put his head on his pillow knowing he lost to the Best in the World instead of someone claiming to be it. Rollins has the accolades and championships. He’s a first ballot WWE Hall of Famer. Rollins is the very best professional wrestler in the entire world… at being number two.
Rollins calls him “Baby Steiner” and says that was good. Did he do that on his own, or did he call Big Poppa Pump for his hook-up? Rollins says if Breakker thinks he’s ready, then Backlash is in two weeks. Rollins will give him the opportunity to prove he’s ready. Rollins will let Breakker in on a little secret: Breakker isn’t even number two in his family. Rollins tosses the microphone to Heyman and walks off.

Page politely claps as Rusev signals for the end. Penta gets out of an Accolade and goes for a springboard, but he holds onto the ropes, knowing Rusev would attempt a Matchka Kick. Penta quickly gets down and rolls Rusev up for the win!
Winner by Pinfall: WWE Intercontinental Champion Penta
Rusev quickly attacks Penta as he celebrates. Ethan Page gets in the ring, but he thinks better of it. Penta fights back at Rusev, so Page attacks Penta from behind. Rusev stares at Page before they start double-teaming Penta.
Je’Von Evans runs down for the save. Evans pulls the ropes down to get Rusev out of the ring. Evans attacks Page. Penta hits Rusev before Evans hits Rusev with a huge OG Cutter! Penta and Evans shake hands in the ring. Rusev and Page are not happy.

-Commercial Break-
Becky Lynch addresses what’s next for her
Replay: Last Saturday at WrestleMania 42, Becky Lynch drove AJ Lee into the exposed turnbuckle and pinned her to win the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch says a lot of history was made at WrestleMania 42. She finally got rid of AJ Lee once and for all, ending her “horrible” title reign. Lynch put gold around the waist of someone who truly deserves it: herself. She became the first WWE Superstar in history to win four different titles at WrestleMania. She became the first-ever three-time Women’s Intercontinental Champion. She’s won more WrestleMania matches than any woman in history. She’ll be coming for Undertaker’s record next. She’s the greatest women’s wrestler of all time. It’s not just her saying it. Sports Illustrated and Bleacher Report also say it.
What happened after the match was even better. At WrestleMania, she looked out and saw her baby girl in the front row. Lynch took her and walked up the ramp with her. Lynch wanted to show her what a real champion is. It’s not about the private hotels, jets, and meals; it’s about showing up in a rundown town like Laredo and showing up for common folk like them. They want her to be a fighting champion. They want her to defend the title against the best of the best, not just a nostalgia act. Lynch stands as a Man of the People. Lynch issues an Open Challenge. She wants to welcome someone to the Big Time.
IYO SKY heads to the ring. Lynch looks shocked. An “IYO” chant picks up. Sky says, “I accept!” Lynch smirks and asks what she’s accepting. Lynch says she wanted to fight the best of the best. Sky isn’t that. The crowd boos Lynch, but Lynch thinks they’re booing Sky. An “IYO” chant picks up. Lynch tries to stop them and says she understands that Sky is accepting on Rhea Ripley’s behalf. Lynch wants to be Becky Two Belts again. Lynch wants to fight Shawn Michaels, not Marty Jannetty. It’s clear Sky was holding her back.
Sky punches Lynch in the face, so Lynch quickly escapes the ring. Raw General Manager Adam Pearce comes out and asks where Lynch is going. Lynch issued an Open Challenge. They’re in Laredo, so they’ll do this right now! Lynch gets in the ring and attacks Sky from behind.

Mysterio says he’s not choosing sides. Los Americanos seemingly threaten Mysterio, displeasing him, so they back off.

“I’ve won the titles everywhere I go. I’ve been on WrestleMania and many other shows. But the time has come for me to pick one brand. I’m sorry to the others, I hope they understand. Joe Hendry’s on Raw… Raw… Joe Hendry’s signed to Raw. Raw… Raw… Joe Hendry’s signed to Raw. Next time you turn on Netflix, you won’t just want to chill. I’ll have you believing in a better kind of thrill. Joe Hendry’s on Raw. Respect to The Ruler, I acknowledge the OTC, but Adam Pearce, if you’re listening, can you make one change for me? That’s Logan Paul… Paul… Paul… can we fire Logan Paul?” Hendry gets the crowd singing that final hook.
World Tag Team Champions Logan Paul and Austin Theory come out. Logan Paul is fired up. Paul screams that he cannot be fired. Paul says the people are awful, like Hendry’s song. Paul heard it was Hendry’s first night on Raw, but it’s also his last. Hendry made the biggest mistake of his life.
Austin Theory says Hendry isn’t seeing things right. They have gold, which makes them the greatest Tag Team Champions of the world and universe. Theory says they are winners. Hendry asks the crowd if they’re winners, but they disagree. Hendry says, “Joe says no to that.” He saw ESPN and WrestleMania. All he sees are “prime time losers.” They throw Hendry’s musical equipment out of the ring. Theory says the mat and the camera belong to the Visioni. The Vision goes through everybody. They’re going to go through Hendry. Theory shoves Hendry, but he turns around and clothehsliens Theory. Hendry tackles Paul into the corner, but Theory quickly runs interference.
The Street Profits run down for the save. Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford quickly clear the ring of Logan Paul before hitting Austin Theory with a double-team powerbomb/neckbreaker combo. Video: Asuka will tell IYO SKY when they’re done. She is still Sky’s senpai. All Sky has done is disappoint her. For so long, she blamed herself for Sky’s mistakes. She thought she did something wrong, but she knows that Sky is the problem. Sky is ungrateful, selfish, and Asuka’s biggest failure. Sky failed her and the family. They’re both alone. Asuka doesn’t want another Sky. She spared Sky because she wanted a family, but Sky killed that. Nothing will stop Asuka from destroying her now. At Backlash, she’ll fix her failure and teach Sky one final lesson. Sky is not and will never be ready for Asuka.

The one thing he agrees with Waller on is that there are no opportunities. The champions already have challengers, and the US Champion doesn’t do Open Challenges. Starting today, he’s hosting the Oba Femi Open Challenge. Femi will be merciless and punish them. They’ll be stepping into the ring with “The Ruler” Oba Femi. Femi poses in the ring.
The Judgment Day Clubhouse
Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, and Roxanne Perez are gloating about beating up Stephanie Vaquer. Morgan asks if she can have a moment alone with Perez. Referee: Danilo Anfibio
Bayley will start against Raquel Rodriguez. Michael Cole announces that Stephanie Vaquer’s shoulder is injured and will be out “for a bit.” Bayley boots Rodriguez back and applies a side headlock. Rodriguez blocks a takedown, but Bayley uses the ropes to hit the takedown. Rodriguez hits a back suplex. A “We want Roxy” chant picks up. Roxanne Perez tags in, and her hometown crowd goes crazy. The crowd chants, “Roxy.” Bayley slams Perez into the corner and tags Lyra Valkyria in to boos. Valkyria applies a side headlock, but Perez turns it on her. Perez cartwheels away and shows up Valkyria before slapping her in the face. Valkyria takes her down to boos from the crowd. Perez goes for a head-scissor, but Valkyria lands on her feet and slaps Perez in the face. Bayley tags in, and there is some miscommunication. Bayley is actually waving Perez over to get out of the double-team attempt. For someone, like Bayley, who has been doing this for a decade, just go with the flow and fix it later. Stopping everything to reset is bush league.
Moments like that kill a match. When the match is reminding you it’s scripted, it’s hard to buy into anything that follows. The heels go over the babyfaces as we go to commercial.
-Commercial Break-

World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns heads to the ring.
-Commercial Break-
Roman Reigns makes his Backlash decision
World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns stands in the ring and listens to the crowd singing to him. Reigns says it’s been a while since he’s been in Texas, but they love their Tribal Chief. An “OTC” chant picks up. They made this title in spite of him. They made this title to try to take away from his shine, but it never worked. There’s an old saying: the title don’t make the man. The man makes the title. That’s exactly what he’s done with this strap. Reigns put it in the main event, on Night Two of WrestleMania. Reigns made this title relevant. Now, you can finally be proud of this title. Now, you can respect this title. Now, you can actually choose to acknowledge this title. Reigns wants to demonstrate. Reigns says, “Laredo, Texas… (an “OTC” chant fires up). Laredo, Texas… acknowledge me!” The crowd cheers him.
Jacob Fatu interrupts and heads to the ring. Reigns puts his head down. Fatu gets in the ring, and Reigns says he has perfect timing because he was just getting to him. He gave Fatu a week and time to think. Reigns hopes that Fatu made the right choice to unite their family rather than divide it. Fatu says he didn’t need a week, a day, or an hour to think about it. Fatu knew exactly what he wanted when he came out last Monday. He didn’t stutter or hesitate. He doesn’t want the title… he needs it. Reigns is stuck in his main event bubble. Reigns has never grinded as he has. Twelve years of hard work, grinding, and suffering. When they were running the Bloodline, he was broke, foaming at the mouth, grinding on the front lines, trying to figure out whether he’d be here or not. It’s not how you start. It’s how you finish. That’s got him standing before Reigns’ ass. Before WWE, no one called him. Solo called him and put him on.
Reigns is confused and says Fatu may be dumber than he thinks. Solo Sikoa couldn’t get a cup of coffee delivered if he wanted to. Who does Fatu think runs this place? An “OTC” chant picks up. Reigns says Laredo isn’t lying. The OTC runs this place. Reigns has been distracted, but he never forgot about Fatu. Reigns still signed off on Fatu’s ass. Fatu doesn’t deserve it and hasn’t earned it. That’s nepotism if Reigns allowed that. That’s…
Fatu grabs Reigns and puts him in the Tongan Death Grip! Reigns hits him with the microphone, but Fatu shakes it off and puts the Tongan Death Grip back on him. Fatu says he’ll take everything from Reigns. Reigns gasps for air as Fatu picks up the World Heavyweight Championship. Fatu throws it onto Reigns and walks off.
Reigns weakly grabs a microphone and calls after Fatu. Reigns shouts, “Jacob, you want me at Backlash? I’ll see you at Backlash!” Fatu, who has a busted lip, says he’ll see Reigns next week on Monday.
