Flipkart Acquires Majority Stake In Minivet AI To Transform Ecommerce Content Generation

Ecommerce giant Flipkart has acquired a majority stake in Minivet AI, a generative artificial intelligence startup, the company announced. The financial terms were not disclosed, as per media reports.

Founded in 2024, Minivet AI develops AI-powered solutions for video and visual content, converting static product catalogues into rich, scalable visual and video assets for ecommerce platforms. Flipkart plans to leverage Minivet AI’s technology to enhance product discovery and content creation, enabling large-scale visual asset generation across its platform.

The acquisition reflects a broader trend of AI adoption in ecommerce, with platforms increasingly deploying AI tools to improve cataloguing, content quality, and consistency for sellers.

Flipkart has not disclosed integration timelines or operational structure post-acquisition. Earlier in September, the company had acquired a majority stake in digital lifestyle and entertainment platform Pinkvilla, signaling its strategic focus on AI and digital content expansion.
