Dhurandhar continues its unstoppable run, emerging as a true global phenomenon. The action spy thriller starring Ranveer Singh has not only dominated the Indian box office but has also made a massive impact overseas. Within just a month of its release, the film crossed the Rs 1000 crore mark worldwide, cementing its place as one of the biggest blockbusters in recent times.
Beyond its box office success, Dhurandhar’s music has struck a powerful chord with audiences. Composed by Sashwat Sachdev, the film’s soundtrack quickly climbed music charts and became a fan favourite. Now, the film has achieved another milestone as its title track found a place on an international sporting platform.
At a recent National Basketball Association (NBA) game held in San Francisco, California, the title track of Dhurandhar was featured during a vibrant Bhangra performance. The moment unfolded ahead of the match between the Golden State Warriors and the Milwaukee Bucks, instantly grabbing the attention of fans inside the arena.
A video shared on Instagram by popular dance crew Bhangra Empire showed a group of dancers dressed in traditional Punjabi attire delivering a high-energy routine to the title track. Their infectious enthusiasm and powerful moves had the crowd cheering along. Sharing the clip, the group captioned it, “Starting our Warriors game performance off with a bang!”
Internet reacts to global moment for Indian music
The video quickly went viral on social media, drawing enthusiastic reactions from fans across the globe. The comments section was flooded with fire emojis and praise for the performance as well as the song. One user wrote, “The Dhurandhar fever is uniting everyone!” Another commented, “What a banger, love the energy.” A fan added, “Dhurandhar music is unbeatable. What a song!”
Several users also applauded the dance group for taking Indian culture to an international stage. One comment read, “@bhangraempire thanks for elevating and taking Bhangra to this platform … loved each second and watched 6 times already.” Many echoed similar sentiments, calling it a proud moment for Indian representation abroad.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar tells the story of an Indian spy sent on a dangerous mission to Pakistan’s Lyari to infiltrate a powerful Baloch gang. Ranveer Singh plays the undercover operative Hamza Ali Mazari, also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi. Akshaye Khanna essays the role of Rehman Dakait, the gang’s formidable leader.
The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi in key roles. Riding high on its success, the makers have already announced Dhurandhar 2, which is slated for a grand Eid release on March 19, 2026. The sequel will release in Hindi as well as all South Indian languages, further expanding the franchise’s reach.
