More about De De Pyaar De 2

In De De Pyaar De 2, Ajay Devgn reprises his role as Ashish Mehra, a middle-aged NRI investor who continues to navigate his relationship with Ayesha, played by Rakul Preet Singh. While the first film focused on Ashish’s equation with his ex-wife and his much younger girlfriend, the sequel flips the narrative. This time, the spotlight shifts to Ayesha’s family and their reaction to her relationship.
R. Madhavan joins the cast as Ayesha’s father, a man who considers himself progressive but finds it difficult to accept the significant age gap between his daughter and Ashish. Gautami Kapoor plays Ayesha’s mother, offering a contrasting perspective within the household. Besides them, Meezaan Jafri also joined the cast, who appears as Adi, Ayesha’s childhood friend and the “ideal” match her parents believe she should choose.
Unlike the first film, Tabu does not feature in the sequel, marking a noticeable shift in tone and character dynamics. Instead, the narrative leans heavily on family confrontations, awkward conversations and humorous misunderstandings, all while addressing deeper questions around choice, consent and independence.Directed by Anshul Sharma and written by Luv Ranjan, De De Pyaar De 2 blends light-hearted comedy with emotional moments. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg under the banners of T-Series Films and Luv Films.

At its core, the sequel remains a story about standing up for love and personal choices.
