China Mobile Pakistan (CMPak, a.k.a. Zong 4G), announced on Friday it has signed a strategic partnership deal with local communication-as-a-service provider Eocean to launch a digital commerce-as-a-service (DCaaS) offering.
Zong said the DCaaS platform – which will be available via its My Zong App – will enable SMEs, home-based businesses, social media sellers and emerging entrepreneurs to set up and manage their e-commerce online presence easily.
Zong expects the platform to enable thousands of businesses to embrace e-commerce by reducing traditional barriers to digital adoption, such as cost, complexity, and lack of technical expertise, which in turn will accelerate entrepreneurship and support economic growth in Pakistan.
The tie-up with Eocean also serves Zong’s strategy to transform itself into a full-stack digital solutions provider offering connectivity, fintech, enterprise solutions and next-generation digital services, said Zong’s marketing chief Sajid Munir.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to transforming the My Zong App into a comprehensive digital platform, delivering convenience, enablement, and innovation for all,” he said in a statement.
