Dhurandhar 2 OTT release new details: When and where to watch Ranveer Singh’s hit spy thriller movie online

Dhurandhar 2 is showing no signs of slowing down at the box office. Directed by Aditya Dhar and headlined by Ranveer Singh, the Bollywood spy thriller has crossed Rs 1115.67 crore in India. The film continues to perform strongly despite new releases and is currently trailing behind Allu Arjun’s Pushpa franchise. Amid its record-breaking run, fresh updates have now emerged about its much-awaited OTT release.

Streaming update of Dhurandhar 2

According to News18 and TOI, the digital streaming rights of Dhurandhar: The Revenge have been acquired by JioHotstar for a massive sum of around Rs 150 crore. This makes it one of the biggest OTT deals secured by a Hindi film in recent times. For those who don’t know, the first instalment was released on Netflix, but the sequel will now premiere on a different platform.
While fans are eagerly waiting to watch the film online, the OTT release may take some time. Reports suggest that the makers are planning a carefully timed digital debut to maximise theatrical earnings before moving to streaming.

According to Sacnilk.com, on its fifth Monday, Dhurandhar 2 collected Rs 1.62 crore nett in India and Rs 0.40 crore from overseas markets. This takes its 33-day total to Rs 1,117.29 crore nett in India and Rs 1,758.96 crore gross worldwide.

Court case impacts OTT timeline

The film’s OTT release has also been in the spotlight due to an ongoing legal dispute. The Delhi High Court recently declined to grant an immediate interim injunction in a case related to the film’s digital release. Instead of halting the film’s exploitation, the court took a more balanced approach.
A key factor in the court’s decision was a statement made by Senior Advocate Ravi Prakash, who appeared for B62 Studios. He informed the bench that there were no plans to release Dhurandhar 2 on any OTT platform before mid-May 2026. Taking note of this assurance, the court observed that there was no urgent need to pass a restraining order at this stage.
In its order dated April 9, the court noted that since the defendants had already made a clear statement regarding the OTT timeline, no interim injunction was necessary “as of now.” This effectively allows the film’s theatrical run to continue without disruption.

Revenue tracking and legal battle

Although the court did not impose a ban, it issued important directions to safeguard financial interests. The filmmakers have been asked to maintain detailed records of all revenues generated from the film’s exploitation since March 19, when it was released. The court stated that these records could be reviewed later, if required, even in a sealed format. The dispute revolves around alleged copyright infringement linked to the classic film Tridev. The plaintiff has claimed that Dhurandhar 2 violates rights associated with Tridev and its intellectual property.

During the hearing, senior advocate Akhil Sibal, representing the defendants, questioned the credibility of the plaintiff’s claims. He referred to past documents, including an old receipt and previous legal notices, to argue that key facts had not been fully disclosed.

On the other hand, the plaintiff’s counsel, Swathi Sukumar, strongly contested these arguments. She challenged both the authenticity and interpretation of the documents presented by the defence and stated that a detailed response would be filed if required.

According to same report, with both sides expressing willingness to resolve the issue, the court has referred the matter to the Delhi High Court Mediation and Conciliation Centre. The parties have been asked to appear before the mediator, signalling a possible attempt to settle the dispute outside prolonged litigation.

At the same time, the court has set a clear timeline for further proceedings. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for May 6, while additional procedural steps, including filing replies and rejoinders, have also been outlined.

More about Dhurandhar 2

For now, the legal developments suggest that Dhurandhar 2 will continue its theatrical journey without immediate interruption, while its OTT release is likely to happen only after mid-May 2026. The final timeline, however, will depend on how the legal dispute unfolds and whether mediation leads to a resolution.

Meanwhile, the film’s strong box office performance continues to make headlines. Co-produced by JioStudios and B62 Studios, Dhurandhar 2 also features Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi in key roles. Stay tuned!
