The Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan combo is back with a bang, as their latest horror comedy, Bhooth Bangla is headed to emerge as .a success story. After opening at Rs. 13.50 crore on Friday (in addition to paid previews of Rs. 3.50 crores), Bhooth Bangla is showing a solid spike in business on day two. According to early estimates, the Akshay Kumar starrer is looking to collect around Rs. 20.50 crores to Rs. 21.50 crores on Saturday, taking the two-day collection to Rs. 38 crores.
The film is in a good position now and will be aiming at an opening weekend in the range of Rs. 60 crores. Being a family-based horror comedy, there will be another surge in business on Sunday, with mass belts like Gujarat, CP, CI and Rajasthan registering strong jumps. On Saturday, the urban centres went bonkers with jumps in the range of 55 to 65 per cent, whereas the mass belts stayed around the 40 to 45 per cent spike mark.
The film is made on controlled costs, and the opening weekend business will more or less consolidate the success status. The hold in collections on Monday will tell us how big a success it can be.
