The MCA, though, is not sure about Shreyas Iyer, who has been out of international action due to a spleen injury since late October. But it is learnt that he may show up for Mumbai’s game on January 3 against Maharashtra, ahead of the ODI squad selection. Iyer, who has had surgery for the injury and is currently at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE), may play the Maharashtra game in Jaipur to test his fitness. At this stage, there is no clarity on whether he will play the ODIs, but sources close to him say he is not leaving anything to chance.
