The Central Government has sent another 190,890 doses of the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine to Andhra Pradesh. The Centre had previously sent 190,800 doses of the HPV vaccine last month as a first phase, specifically for girls aged 14 to 15 years, to protect against cervical cancer. The HPV vaccine plays a pivotal role in preventing cervical cancer; this vaccine is both safe and effective. In two separate consignments, the state has received a total of 3,81,780 vaccine doses from the Central Government. The vaccination drive for girls will continue uninterrupted until May this year. With the conclusion of the 10th-grade public examinations, the pace of vaccine distribution is expected to accelerate further.
