Amaran, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters in Tamil cinema in 2024. The biographical film, based on the life of Major Mukund Varadharajan, went on to collect around Rs. 350 crores at the worldwide box office. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the film’s massive success catapulted him to prominence. The director has collaborated with Dhanush for his next project.
The movie, tentatively titled D55, was launched formally a few months ago. The latest update reveals that Tollywood beauty and awesome dancer Sreeleela has been roped in as the female lead. None saw this coming and Dhanush fans are pleasantly surprised with the news.
D55 focuses on unsung heroes who blend in within society as told by he director in an interview. Anbuchezhiyan, an investor turned producer, is bankrolling D55 under the banner of Gopuram Films. Latest music sensation Sai Abyankkar will compose the tunes.
