Anil Ravipudi reacts to Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan being labeled a remake of NBK’s Bhagavanth Kesari

Thalapathy Vijay is gearing up to amuse audiences with his farewell movie, Jana Nayagan. The movie is slated for release on January 9, 2026, coinciding with Pongal. For a long time, there have been rumors that Jana Nayagan is the remake of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Bhagavanth Kesari.

Now, Bhagavanth Kesari director Anil Ravipudi himself has responded to the rumors. The media asked Anil Ravipudi whether Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan is a remake of his film Bhagavanth Kesari. The director replied, “Vijay Sir is a true gentleman. We will know whether or not I have any part in his farewell film only after its release. Until then, let’s treat it as a Thalapathy Vijay film.”

Similarly, during the audio launch event, Jana Nayagan director H. Vinoth said that the political action drama is a 100% Thalapathy film. Pooja Hegde plays the female lead, while Bobby Deol will be seen as the antagonist. Mamitha Baiju plays a pivotal role.
