Amazon Fresh delivers fresh fruit, vegetables, groceries, dairy, and meat products within 4-24 hours.
The ecommerce major launched Amazon Now operations in Bengaluru first in June 2025. Later, the platform extended its operations to Delhi and Mumbai.
“Amazon Fresh, currently operational in 120 cities (will likely be stopped in the top 10-20 cities where Amazon Now will operate),” the report said.
Amazon did not respond to ET’s queries at the time of publication of this story.

Amazon Now is currently operational in six cities, including Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. ET reported on March 13 that Amazon has also scaled up its Now service and is expected to have 500 dark stores after accelerating expansion from December, adding about two facilities a day.
“Currently, Amazon Now is available in six cities, and we understand per checks this will be expanded to the top 10-15 cities, which cater to 80% of the current QC demand. Amazon Fresh would cease operating in these cities,” the paper read.
Apart from fresh items like fruits and vegetables, dairy products, and meat, Amazon Now offers groceries, appliances, essentials, and more. The company is clocking 300,000-350,000 orders per day across its network, ET reported earlier.
In this space, Amazon Now competes with the likes of Instamart, Blinkit, Zepto, and Flipkart Minutes.
This development comes at a time when ecommerce majors are expanding their quick commerce services to meet the growing demand. Walmart-owned Flipkart’s Minutes, launched in August 2024, has been adding around 100 dark stores every month this year, and the pace of additions will last until June this year.
