Amazon India to shut down Fresh in top cities amid quick commerce push: UBS report


Amazon India is planning to shut down the Amazon Fresh service in 10 to 15 major cities across the country as it focusses on its quick commerce offering, Amazon Now, according to a report by UBS Global Research.

Amazon Fresh delivers fresh fruit, vegetables, groceries, dairy, and meat products within 4-24 hours.

The ecommerce major launched Amazon Now operations in Bengaluru first in June 2025. Later, the platform extended its operations to Delhi and Mumbai.

“Amazon Fresh, currently operational in 120 cities (will likely be stopped in the top 10-20 cities where Amazon Now will operate),” the report said.

Amazon did not respond to ET’s queries at the time of publication of this story.
