Series A Funding to Expand Federal Cloud Services
Knox Systems, the largest federal AI-managed cloud provider, has raised $25 million in Series A funding. The round was led by B Capital and included M12, Microsoft’s Venture Fund, Okta Ventures, MongoDB Ventures, Hearst Ventures, and Benchstrength. Knox just landed $6.5 million in seed funding this June, thanks to Felicis, Ridgeline, and FirsthandVC.
With this money, they’re speeding up FedRAMP authorization—a big deal for any company wanting to sell cloud services to the U.S. government. Usually, getting through FedRAMP can chew through $2–5 million just to start, then hit you with another million a year. It’s crazy expensive, so most SaaS companies can’t even break in. Knox plans to change that, bringing approvals in just 90 days and slashing costs by 90%.
Knox’s pre-authorized environment dramatically lowers these barriers. CEO Irina Denisenko said, “This raise allows us to expand federal authorization capacity at a moment when agencies urgently need access to modern, secure technology. Knox delivers a faster, lower-cost path for SaaS vendors to meet federal security requirements and reach government customers in weeks, not years.”
Transforming SaaS Access to Federal Markets
Howard Morgan, Chair and General Partner of B Capital, put it simply: “Knox is shaking up the way SaaS companies reach the federal market. Now, vendors can pull in new revenue faster, and agencies get the mission-critical tech they need without the usual waiting. We’re excited to lead this investment right when it matters most.”
Knox focuses on speed without sacrificing security. Many SaaS companies treat compliance as a cumbersome process, but Knox ensures agencies have immediate access to world-class software. Its approach bridges the gap between commercial innovation and government adoption, delivering secure software where and when it is needed.
Multi-Cloud Platform and Authorizations
Knox operates the largest multi-cloud federal boundary across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. It enables a bring-your-own-architecture model for unmatched flexibility. The company currently holds Authorizations to Operate (ATOs) across 15 federal civilian and defense agencies, including the Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Commerce, and the Food and Drug Administration.
Microsoft Vice President Leigh Madden said, “Knox reduces the time and cost to deploy secure cloud solutions. Their platform strengthens programs’ compliance and reliability, and supports the broader ecosystem our Department of the Workforce customers rely on.”
Celonis VP Aubrey Vaughn added, “By partnering with Knox, we achieved authorization in less than 90 days. This allows us to get our technology into the hands of government leaders immediately, removing obstacles that traditionally slow public sector innovation.”
Commercial Adoption and Enterprise SaaS Impact

Knox serves top AI and SaaS providers including Adobe, Celonis, OutSystems, Armis, and BigID. A platform built for demanding government conditions delivers trust that extends to commercial use, ensuring production environments run securely at scale.
The U.S. Government spends $100 billion annually on software, but fewer than 500 SaaS applications are authorized for federal use out of more than 30,000 commercially available. Knox’s mission is to provide the fastest, most cost-effective path to FedRAMP authorization, opening federal doors to a broader array of software solutions.

Accelerating Secure Innovation
By simplifying FedRAMP and reducing costs, Knox helps agencies adopt modern tools rapidly. Knox takes the toughest challenge in government IT and flips it into the quickest route to modernization. With AI-powered infrastructure, enterprise SaaS vendors can hit all their compliance and operational marks without the usual headaches.
Honestly, there aren’t many players at this level — just Knox and Palantir. Knox’s managed federal cloud is all about speed, reliability, and meeting strict standards, making it the go-to option for both commercial SaaS companies and federal agencies.
This Series A funding lets Knox grow bigger, build smarter, and keep offering cloud services that tackle the needs of both defense and civilian teams. It pushes secure innovation forward across the government, showing everyone a real path to scalable and compliant cloud adoption.
